In early November West End Trees wardens and some volunteers planted over 100 young saplings in the woodland area on the grounds of Holy Trinity Primary School, Benner Lane, West End. The trees were supplied by The Woodland Trust as part on a nationwide tree planting initiative. Four types of trees were planted, Downy Birch, Goat Willow, Crab apple Hazel and Hawthorn.

A further 100 trees are also due to be planted this month, which, as they mature, will provide a natural barrier between the school playing fields and the newly built housing estate adjacent to the school.  We are hoping to also get some fast-growing ivy and holly to be part of this barrier.
